For
Aaron Broering it all started with the kid, the guitar and the dream. Born
March 17th 1972, also to a family of musicians. His early exposure to the sounds
of the 70's is successfully evident in his passionate and accurate representation
of the Eagles material. As a child and young adult, Aaron was greatly influenced
by musical heavyweights as The Beach Boys, The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Eric
Clapton and Paul McCartney, and the culmination is Aaron new cd, "The
Road Less Traveled", a collection of original gems crowned by the hit-bound
"Ruby".
Born in Garden Grove, Aaron's road began to take shape. His father
was a drummer and professional surfer, and his mother was a keyboardist, vocalist
and songwriter. His mother's participation in their church's music group introduced
Aaron to musical variety and, ultimately, to the variety of instruments he would
conquer.
In 1993, Aaron was accepted as a vocal music major at San Diego State University
where he began working on his bachelor's degree in music. During his studies at
SDSU, he began experiencing moderate local success with his music. While honing
his vocal and composition skills as well as teaching himself guitar, he won the
1995 homecoming talent show with his original song, "We All Find a Way",
which also appears on his cd. The accomplishment was duplicated the very next
year with a collaboration on a song called, "Innocent Grandchild".
Aaron and partner Julio Ferrari fronted the group Blue Heaven which
played in the San Diego area until 1998.
In his senior year at SDSU, Aaron composed an orchestral and choral arrangement
called "Wing and a Prayer", which epitomized the struggle and strife
of loss. The composition was selected and performed in concert at the university
in 1998. It was acknowledged by his instructors and his peers as having commercial
potential, but served more as a milestone of his musical and spiritual growth.
On a more personal level, it was Aaron's final tribute to his mother, his first
musical muse, who passed away in 1997. He continues to arrange and compose original
instrumental music.
In 1998, Aaron completed his degree and continued performing professionally both
nationally
and internationally with various groups. Since that period, he has gained continual
acclaim and recognition for his original compositions and live performances.
In 1999 Aaron began touring nationally as lead vocalist, lead guitarist and pianist
with various groups which opened for artists such as Dwight Yoakam, Le Ann Rimes,
Gregg Allman and Three Dog Night. In 2000 he toured in Europe and Asia as lead
vocalist, lead guitarist and pianist with the Sam Morrison Band which showcased
original material and shared billing with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Confederate Railroad
and Juice Newton.
In 2002 Aaron completed his original cd, "The Road Less Traveled"
and was commissioned to conduct a guitar performance workshop at Cardinal Ohara
High School in Buffalo, New York. And from 2001-2002 toured with the Eagles tribute
band, Hotel California, which marked the first time he and Jeff Ballew
would take the stage together. He also performed locally in the acoustic duo Liquid.
In 2003, while working on his second original cd, "Reason to Believe",
Aaron's song "Gotta Get Out" appeared on the soundtrack of the movie,
"The Far Shore" , a documentary about surfing.
His original music has also been featured on air on Santa Monica's popular radio
station KCRW, which notoriously showcases original up-and-coming artists.
While keeping busy playing locally with various artists, bands and projects, his
work with Desperado also gains continual acclaim. Aside from using the
Eagles sound as a major influence in his own music, Aaron has had the fortune
of meeting with Eagles members, Joe Walsh and Randy Meisner.
